Mother’s Day is coming up, and if you are lucky enough to be able to spend it with your mom this year, why not take her somewhere as special as she is? We know just the neighborhood. Technically, we know three great Charlotte neighborhoods made for moms where you will find lots of ideas.
Mom’s Day just happens to be in the magical month of May. Here in Charlotte, spring is a spectacularly beautiful time of year with flowers blooming everywhere, a gorgeous tree canopy adorning its fresh green coat of leaves, sunshine and perfect temps. So, we would like to suggest some of our favorite places in Charlotte’s loveliest neighborhoods where you can celebrate mom and this beautiful season.
DILWORTH
Dilworth is a top mom spot. Many restaurants in Dilworth are offering Mother’s Day brunch, including 300 East. It’s an ideal spot for a mimosa and brunch, plus it has a divine patio under the trees. We also love Kid Cashew. It’s also great for outdoor seating and steps from Freedom Park. Before or after brunch, bring the whole family for a jaunt through this gorgeous park. You can stroll around the pond, walk by the creek or lay out blankets and people watch!
Dilworth is a great area to live in too, of course. We have wonderful agents who can show you homes in this much loved historic neighborhood in Charlotte. Liz Millsaps Haigler is particularly knowledgeable about Dilworth.
ELIZABETH
Elizabeth is right up there with Dilworth for a perfect Mom’s Day. We suggest a lovely dinner here in Elizabeth at one of Charlotte’s finest: The Fig Tree, a beautiful, historic Elizabeth home turned restaurant. The Fig Tree has one of the best wine lists in Charlotte, and the outdoor patio is to die for. Absolutely a special place to take Mom. Before that, explore Elizibeth’s shops and galleries with Mom, like Thirty-One Jane, maybe grab a coffee at Central Coffee or just walk through the lovely tree-lined streets of Elizabeth.
Our best agent to learn more about the Elizabeth neighborhood and what it has to offer for homes is Cassee Cunningham. Cassee lives in Elizabeth in one of its most noteworthy historic homes. She can talk to you about Elizabeth and Charlotte’s other walkable neighborhoods all day long.
PLAZA MIDWOOD
Plaza Midwood has excellent shopping like Betty’s and Moxie Mercantile. Get your nails and toes done with Mom at several nail salons in Plaza Midwood. One of our favorites is Tiptoe Nail Boutique. Plus, there are so many fun places to eat! We suggest a fun and unique dining experience at milkbread, a casual all day restaurant located in a revitalized Dairy Queen building that has some of the best donuts around. So much is packed into Plaza Midwood.
Tracy Gregg is our resident expert in Plaza Midwood. Give her a call to learn more about this vibrant, much loved area of Charlotte. It’s also where our new office will be opening.
Whatever you choose to do, we hope you and the marvelous mommas in your life have a wonderful Mother’s Day.
