Wilmore
Originally a streetcar suburb connected to Charlotte by a trolley line, Wilmore features picturesque Arts & Crafts bungalows, upstart businesses, is a short stroll to SouthEnd. A contemporary of the Dilworth neighborhood, Wilmore has been re-discovered and revitalized as of late. Now one of Charlotte’s designated historic districts, authentic bungalows and cottages are once again en vogue. Bojangle’s, the famous southeastern fast food staple, got its start here on West Boulevard in the late 1970’s. South Mint Street, the spine of Charlotte’s Gold District, is home to cool new local businesses and eateries. Public parks and green space are easy to find.
